Ellen Johnson Sirleaf To Address Plenary

The House of Representatives will on Thursday, March 5, 2026, host former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

Madam Sirleaf, according to a release, is expected to address the lawmakers during a special sitting of the plenary.

The appearance of Madam Sirleaf follows her acceptance of a formal invitation the Speaker, Richard Nagbe Koon, extended to her.

In a letter addressed to Koon, Madam Sirleaf expressed appreciation for the invitation. She described it as an “unprecedented gesture that will go down in history.”

She noted that the invitation reflects a meaningful opportunity for engagement with the Legislature.

Madam Sirleaf further confirmed that her security team, has conducted an inspection of the venue, and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, particularly the approach for entry.

Though topic Madam Sirleaf will addressed was not disclosed, she meanwhile, thanked the Koon and other lawmakers for the invite.
