The Egyptian Ambassador accredited near Monrovia, Ahmed Abdelazzeem Farghaly, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Arab Republic of Egypt’s continuous effort in providing capacity-building opportunities for personnel of the Ministry of National Defense and the men and women of the Armed Forces of Liberia. Speaking when he visited the Minister of National Defense, B/G. Geraldine J. George on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Ambassador further praised the Minister for her bilateral engagement that has culminated into the reaffirmation of the Egyptian Government to the provision of training opportunity for the Armed Forces of Liberia. He disclosed that his government has made available slots in the areas of medicine, peacekeeping and special operations for the AFL and encouraged the Minister and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia to make maximum use of these training opportunities that will be provided by his Government. The Egyptian Ambassador further proposed collaboration and cooperation as a means of boosting bilateral the ties subsisting between the two countries. Ambassador Farghaly made these remarks when he paid a courtesy visit on the Minister of National Defense at her office. In response, B/G. George expressed her profound gratitude to the Government and people of Egypt for the gesture and promised to seize the opportunities that will be available especially for capacity-building opportunity which she said is one of the key pillars of her administration. Minister George then promised to remain engaged with the Egyptian Government through Ambassador Farghaly for better working relationship and cooperation. At the end of the visit, Ambassador Farghaly took a photograph with some military personnel who have undergone training in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
