We are observing with apprehension that several government officials at various ministries and agencies, are raising their own horns, not only overbearingly, but also brutally in the discharge of their duties, thus suppressing and repressing others.
In so doing, they would usurp the functions of their under men, deprive them of performing their assigned roles for which they were appointed, thereby creating friction and an air of uneasiness.
When functions of others are usurped in a dictatorial manner, the culture of democracy is abused, while normal work tradition is stalled; negatively affecting the nation as a whole.
Such unwholesome practices have, and continue to negatively stall the society as a result of the unilateral use of power mostly by people, who are power drunk, and would feel achieved, if not amused by creating bottlenecks in the administrative system.
In democracy, the practice of absolutism is the recipe for chaos and turbulence. It has the tendency to create national disharmony. The
evidences can be measured by the cries as a result of displeasure at work places.
Power is useless, and counterproductive to the growth, and development of any institution, as well as the society at large when it is abused in a dictatorial fashion.
On the other hand, power is useful and lifesaving, when it is shared democratically.
It is against this ugly experience that we wish to remind all those in such habit to adopt the culture of democratic tenet always and
turn a new page.
Let it be known that absolutism belongs to God and not men. The obvious fact remains that God’s absolutism is done in favor of all spheres that have to do with the involvements of mankind.
Unlike mankind, God’s absolutism tends to create or make available to men’s disposal the abundant grace free of charge. The culture of
corruption and the growing habit as it relates to the repeat of the country’s ugly past are the glaring examples.
Stop wounding democracy!!
