NO SOCIETY EVER fruitfully grows where holistic and realistic unity is hindered or suppressed. In unity there’s collective strength that leads to growth and development.
THIS IS A REALITY that’s undeniable as it’s the only formula to substantive growth in development socially, politically, culturally and economically.
ANY SOCIETY THAT fails to grow and develop is that which unity is suppressed, where love is suppressed thereby giving bigger space to hatred and all negativities to prevail alarmingly.
IN THE ABSENCE of unity, a society, family, organization, or nation often experiences many serious problems such as fighting among themselves because they no longer work together toward a common goal while tribalism, political hatred, and misunderstanding increase.
WITHOUT UNITY, IT becomes difficult to achieve progress since roads, schools, hospitals, businesses, and national projects may suffer because people pull in different directions.
In the absence of unity leaders and citizens may constantly oppose one another in destructive ways, leading to confusion, protests, violence, or poor governance.
DISUNITY IS A serious societal tragedy; it creates tension, crime, and even war given that communities that do not trust one another become unsafe and fearful.
OBVIOUSLY, INVESTORS AND businesses avoid unstable societies. As a result, unemployment and poverty may increase.
IN THE WAKE of disunity, citizens may stop seeing themselves as one people. Instead, they may focus only on tribe, region, religion, or political party.
A UNITED PEOPLE are usually stronger, more peaceful, and more capable of building a better future together. As the saying goes: “United we stand, divided we fall.”
IT’S ABOUT TIME we Liberians glue ourselves under unity umbrella and move forward from the ashes of war and poverty that continue to keep us dragging while foreigners steal our gold and diamonds as well as other natural resources.
