Liberia is unhappily seated on the shoulders of poverty, and the vast majority of its citizens are customarily bent under the weight of poverty.
Always clutched in the grip of poverty as a way of life, the vast majority seem not to believe that there’s a kingdom called prosperity.
Although all-natural resources created by God are found in the country, including gold, diamond, silver, and other gems and timber, the citizens remain in slavery as far as the pains and agonies unleashed by poverty are concerned.
Sadly, while poverty is riding the backs of the citizens, power struggle amongst power strugglers remains the political melody of the day.
What seems undoubtedly is that politicians of the land careless to understand that there’s a menace called poverty that’s breeding uneasiness, hunger, frustration, disunity and disgruntlement across the land, naturally rich, yet poor at all levels.
Poverty is the result of lack of vision and mission that takes into account the general welfare of all citizens in whose interest God made available those rich natural resources.
No doubt, God is saddened when a given nation and people are bent under the weight of poverty, thereby living precarious life nationally. It saddens God for a given point to just take pleasure bellowing with His name in the name of crusades, fast and prayers, revivals, etc. asking for His blessings, when in fact, the very first things God created before creating mankind are those countless and abundant grace.
It’s against this backdrop that we urge those in power, and those seeking power to join forces, and give Liberia the proper social, political and economic attention it deserves.
The undebatable fact is that no nation and people share joy and happiness when the prime focus of its politicians is to comparatively build party headquarters while hunger, joblessness, and frustration live with citizens in bed.
