Margibi County District #1 Lawmaker Roland Opee Cooper, on Tuesday, June 17, at the 10th day sitting of the House of Representatives submitted for consideration
and legislative review the proposed “Duazohn City Corporation Act of 2025.”
Cooper’s letter is an effort to further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Duazohn, which is one of the largest communities in the county.
The legislation, Cooper said, is a reflection of the urgent need to strengthen administrative oversight and governance in communities affected by the proposed city corporation.
“The establishment of Duazohn City will significantly enhance the efficient and effective governance of the area, foster sustainable development, and create
employment opportunities for residents,” Rep. Cooper added.
He said, the initiative aligns with the government’s developmental objectives, which promises to contribute to economic
growth and improve public service delivery in the region.
Meanwhile, Cooper called on his colleagues to consider and facilitate the swift passage of the bill, thereby enabling its onward submission to the senate
for further legislative action to better the district.
The communication was forwarded to Internal Affairs, Ways Means and Finance and Judiciary to review and report within two weeks.
