A domestic disagreement in Bolloh Klaydeeper Town has resulted in the death of 40-year-old Khafi Baidoo Jr., a Ghanaian national, with local authorities detaining Oretha Gmah, 36, a Liberian woman, in connection to the incident.
According to initial reports from the Buah Geeken Police Station, the suspect was handed over to law enforcement on Monday, March 9, 2026, by Elder Ali Konateh, 46, a resident of the same community.
Police indicated that the incident took place on Sunday afternoon, March 8, around 12:30 p.m., when the suspect and the victim, her sister’s boyfriend, reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation. During the confrontation, Baidoo fell to the ground. He was rushed to the BuahGeeken Health Center and later referred to the River Gee County Health Center, but died en route and was pronounced dead upon return to the local health facility.
In a statement to authorities, Gmah said the dispute arose after the victim allegedly mixed her clothes with children’s clothing. She added that the victim appeared intoxicated at the time he fell. She reported that his brother attempted to assist him and rushed him to the hospital, but he did not survive.
The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue, while the family of the deceased has taken his remains to a local funeral home.
Authorities are appealing to witnesses in the community to come forward with any information to assist in the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.
This case underscores the dangers of domestic disputes escalating into fatal outcomes and highlights the need for conflict resolution and intervention in family and household disagreements.
