CSNL Commends MMC

The CSNL, says over the county’s first Palm Oil Refinery, it recognizes Asaad Fadel Contributions to Liberia’s economic development.

The Civil Society Network of Liberia (CSNL) has commended Mano Manufacturing Company (MANCO) and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Asaad Fadel, for the development of a Palm Oil Refinery.

The refinery, according to a release, will convert locally produced crude palm oil into RBD olein (cooking oil) and high-quality derivatives aligned with international standards.

The establishment of a palm oil refinery for the first time in the country’s history is “a milestone by MANCO that deserves recognition.”

“The CSNL sees the Palm Oil Refinery by the company as a transformative investment that marks a new era of industrial self-sufficiency and national value creation.”

Due to be commissioned in November, 2025, the refinery will finally take palm oil from seed to bottle. This is a strategic commitment by Mr. Fadel to retain value in the country unlike other businessmen, who are interested in exporting Liberia’s natural resources in its raw form.

“CSNL wants to extol the renowned businessman and CEO of the company for his continuous impactful contributions towards the economic growth and development of Liberia and its people.”

This development minded personality has made tremendous contributions towards the economy by investing into different sectors of the Liberian society.

The development of a palm oil refinery, first of its kind in the country will boost economic development and create jobs for Liberians.

“We like to recognize that since the purchase of Sime Darby Plantation Investment in 2019, now known as Mano Palm Oil Plantation, Mr. Fadel has been committed to making continuous economic contributions to the country. The development of a palm oil refinery is of no exception.

Apart from contributing towards Liberia economy through investments in different businesses like the expected palm oil refinery, CSNL also recognizes Mr. Fadel for being a sports supporter and devotee. Besides the massive support, the release said, MANCO is providing to Mighty Barrolle Basketball team.

Mr. Fadel is also the head Coach of the Mighty Barrolle Basketball Team.

As a passionate lover of basketball, this charismatic character has brought so much passion and desire to the sport. Despite the wealth he has, his humble behavior of coaching a basketball team has brought so much attraction to the sport. It has also increased the fan and support base of Mighty Barrolle.

CSNL, meanwhile, wishes to point out that the establishment of a palm oil refinery by MANCO, owned by Mr. Fadel, the Liberian-born Lebanese business executive, will have far-reaching positive impacts.

The refinery will create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, strengthen domestic supply chains and reduce dependency on imported edible oils. This will also develop human capital through skill training and career enhancement.

The refinery will contribute towards transforming the local community and create access to locally produced refined cooking oil.

The CSNL reiterates its commendation of MANCO for the establishment of a refinery, which will add full economic value to palm oil. It is laudable that palm seeds will not only be cultivated and harvested, but converted to cooking oil in the country. This internationally acceptable refinery will indeed boost Liberia’s economy, through value addition and employment opportunities.

“We appreciate this laudable venture and encourage MANCO to continue to add value to the agricultural sector of the country, like the establishment of a palm oil refinery.
