Political tensions in Bong County have reached a boiling point. This development came after the county Electoral District #3 Representative, Josiah Marvin Cole, used a local radio station platform and delivered a scathing attack on former lawmaker Edward W. Karfiah.

Other accused are the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai the county Superintendent, Hawa Loleyah Norris.

While on air, Rep. Cole labelled Karfiah as a criminal, who he claimed undermined developments in the county, while pursuing personal political ambitions.

Cole said, during Karfiah’s tenure as a lawmaker, communities were neglected, leaving essential infrastructure in disrepair.

“Bong County residents cannot continue to bear the cost of failed leadership. We want full accountability from the former lawmaker,” Cole told his listeners via radio.

He also launched a fierce critique of Pres. Boakai’s administration, accusing it of consistently failing to uphold the rule of law, and deliver on promises made during the 2023 elections.

Cole said citizens are growing increasingly frustrated as campaign commitments remain unfulfilled, leaving communities without vital development projects.

He further criticized Supt. Norris for ‘halting’ an opposition Citizens Movement for Change bridge project. The project was aimed at improving infrastructure and access for commuters.

He described the stoppage as a “clear example of leadership disconnected from the people.”

Rep. Cole’s radio broadcast comments have already sparked widespread debate, shining a harsh spotlight on the “repeated failures of local and national leadership.”

The accusations come amid growing political unrest in the county, where rivalries and stalled development projects continue to frustrate residents.

As of press time last night, neither former Rep. Karfiah, Supt. Norris, nor any of the officials have responded to Cole’s remarks.

However, two persons closed to the ruling establishment said in separate statements that Cole’s public denunciation has intensified scrutiny that may eventually shape the next phase of political and development dynamics in the county.
