President Joseph Nyuma Boakia has appointed Mrs. Amira B. A. Johnson, widow of Senator Prince Y. Johnson (PYJ), as a member of the board of directors at the National Port Authority (NPA).
Mrs. Johnson appointment was reported early Monday morning, June 23, 2025, via the Executive Mansion page, according to a release.
Sources from the Nimba County Community revealed that, the appointment was made through the effort of the Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung.
Koung, the release said, has pleaded with Pres. Boakai as part of the family meeting agenda immediately after the funeral of Senator Johnson.
Additional sources revealed that, VP Koung, as part of the engagement with the President on behalf of the Johnson’s family, lobby with the President to turn the PYJ University in Ganta to a fully sponsored Public facility under the government.
“VP Koung is doing everything possible to protect the Legacy of the late Senator Prince Y. Johnson,” the release said.
