President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, on Sunday, December 21, 2025, received a telephone call from United States President, Donald John Trump.
The conversation, according to a release, focused on matters of mutual interest, including areas of regional peace and stability, and cooperation in key areas of governance, economic development, and security.
Pres. Trump conveyed greetings to Pres. Boakai and the people of Liberia, acknowledging the longstanding historical relationship between the two countries.
Pres. Boakai welcomed the engagement from his American counterpart, and spoke of Liberia’s priorities aimed at good governance, growth, and national development.
Both leaders expressed optimism about continued dialogue, and engagement between Liberia and the United States.
The call reflects ongoing interactions between the two countries as Liberia advances its national development agenda on the heels of country’s assumption of her seat on the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member.
