The Haywood Mission Institute family on March 24, 2025, held an elaborate welcome and thanksgiving programs for the safe arrival of the mission’s Administrator/Principal Bishop Leo M. Simpson.
The welcome ceremony was done in
a well-organized dramatic show of love, characterized by thanksgiving and appreciation to God for the Bishop speedy recovery from a sickness that attacked him while attending a conference in the United States.
According to the organizers of the program, it was the Mission family way of thanking and appreciation God for healing Bishop Simpson.
“We will not allow the day to go back without saying thank you Lord for our administrator,”” the organizers said.
In June, 2024, Bishop Simpson and wife left for the United States to attend the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. annual convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
Days after the convention, Bishop Simpson came down with severe fever and was rushed to hospital for medical attention. The situation became to the extent that the Bishop remained in his hospital bed for a month.
“Thanks be to God, Almighty that the Bishop is out of the woods with a clean bill of health.
At a colorful ceremony for what the Lord has done, the elementary, junior and senior high divisions of the Haywood Mission Institute read and presented statements of appreciation. The students were joined by their instructional office, administrative aids, administrative assistants, the Mission Chapel and P.A.W Church in offering Special Prayer, as well as special statement from Mrs. (Dr.) Myra E. Simpson, Director of Christian Education and Early childhood development.
She praised Y. Gayflor Johnson for the hard work that kept the school running while they were away.
Mrs. Simpson referred to the acting Administrator/Principal as a “brave individual” who stood the challenges of running the school prior to their returned.
In his turn over note, the Acting Administrator/Principal, expressed gratitude to the Simpsons for the confidence they reposed in him.
He also thanked his colleagues for cooperating with him, while the family was away
In special statements veteran journalist Aaron Kollie and Varney his colleague Gbessay (all products) of Haywood Mission Institute, expressed gratitude to God for healing Bishop Simpson.
The staffs assured Bishop Simpson of their commitment to move the Mission forward
In his response, Bishop Simpson thanked God for what He has done and the immense sacrifices made through prayers why lying in hospital bed.
He also expressed special thanks to his wife Dr. Myra E. Simpson, daughter
