Bartekwa Unveils US$55,000 Grandcess Youth Center

By Emmanuel Koffa

Grand Kru County Senator Numene T. H. Bartekwa has officially unveiled a US$55,000 youth center in Grandcess.

The project places renewed attention on youth-focused infrastructure, and the fulfillment of campaign commitments.

The facility was constructed as part of a broader effort to create opportunities for young people through a dedicated community space designed for meetings, skills activities, education, and recreation.

The center, now completed and dedicated, is expected to serve as a focal point for youth engagement in Grandcess and nearby communities.

Bartekwa Special Assistant, Darius D. Doe, confirmed that the project cost US$55,000.

Doe said, the amount reflects both the construction work, and installed amenities, including a DSTV system.

The Senator’s office defended the expenditure by pointing to the need for a fully equipped and modern youth space that can host educational content, community events and sports viewing programs.

“This is part of our commitment to the young people and to the promises made during the campaign.”

The development is likely to draw public attention, not only for its social significance, but also for the cost attached to the project, as residents and observers continue to scrutinize public spending and the value delivered through constituency initiatives.

For many in Grandcess, the center is seen as a visible investment in the future of the youth, while also raising broader conversations about development priorities and accountability in public projects.
