The First Baptist Church, founded 1872 in Louisiana, Montserrado County, has embarked on the construction of a State- of – The – Art school facility.

The cost of the new school is approximately US$100,000.

At the groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Pastor Floyd Foiryolo defined the Church as the light that has remained so for society from time immemorial.

Foiryolo told members of his congregation and invited guests, how the First Baptist Church in Louisiana has lived up to the task in the township by providing every necessary need it ought to do while spreading the good news from the Gospel. “As Baptist prelate, we are the lights that provide healthcare, education, give water and lights while we nurture souls on the account of Jesus Christ.” Foiryolo informed his guests as to how the school project will host a three-storey facility to encompass elementary through high school. “We come from different backgrounds in the Body of Christ so we can serve the current generation with Christ’s message of love associated with development.” Foiryolo said, the Church will ensure that the project is transparently implemented to attract huge respect and gain favor from God as well as from those who will be living to give testimonies about the new school. He further said, building the new school facility in the township will ease constrains school-going children face, specifically during the rainy season. Foiryolo expressed concerned about the limited number of high schools in the township, particularly in the surrounding communities that host the Church. Moses K. White, Chairman of the Board of Deacons of the First Baptist Church and Commissioner of Louisiana, lauded the Church for the initiative. Mr. White praised the project and it architects for providing the land in the township that hosted a clinic. “The Church provided a parcel of land to the township on which the Louisiana Public School is located. The Church also gave a parcel of land to the Ministry of Health on which the Louisiana Health Center is built,” Mr. White recalled. He meanwhile, urged Christians to get involve with education, because, “the youths are not being taught Biblical principles.” The Baptist Deacon decried the removal of teaching Bible in public schools, and called on Christians to fill in the gap by teaching the young generation Godly living.

During the fund raising-rally, the Church received about US$2,000, and over 370 bags of cement, loads of building sand and rocks, in cash and pledges as initial donation towards the project.
