Students of the William VS Tubman High School on 12th Street in Sinkor have stormed the main streets of Monrovia demanding their teachers to return to classes.
According to them, their teachers Protest action is grateful affecting their learning process.
Holding placards and chanting slogans, the angry students called on the government to address the four counts of their teachers in a timely manner and form in order for them to return to classes to teach them.
It is exactly two School days since the Monrovia Consolidated School System Teachers Association announced and indefinite strike action until the government can address their Four counts.
According to the students, if their request is not met they will embark on a campaign to disrupt normal school activities of other institutions which they stated will draw the attention of others to amicably address their issue.
As part of their Four Counts demands, the MCSSTA wants the government to immediately adjust the monthly salary of some employees in keeping with their academic qualifications. They also called on the government to transition all volunteer workers to full time employment to provide quality education.
Other demands: salary increment of MCSS employees in keeping with President Boakai’s state of the Nation address on improve education, which was reaffirmed by the Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan.
Additionally, the MCSSTA calls on the government to provide more budgetary support for MCSS operations as well as currently operating redline according to the Civil Service Agency (CSA). By Fortune TV Liberia Staff Writer
