Back Lead AFL Completes ‘Operation True Guardian’

The Armed Forces of Liberia, (A Force for Good), said it ended the recently launched Operation True Guardian on Monday, April 22, 2025.

The exercise, according to a release, was held in Grand Cape Mount, Bomi and Gbarpolu counties, Western Liberia.

“This military patrol was conducted in three phases from March 24 to Wednesday, April 23, April 2025.

The commander of the operation, Captain Nyenkendoh F. Fallah, informed the AFL Public Affairs Department that the operation which was ‘inevitably intense and tactical achieved its objectives.’

He thanked the officials and the locals for the warm receptions and cooperation during the entire operations.

As part of the operation’s community engagement initiative, a football match which ended 1-0 in favor of the AFL was played with the locals in Gbarpolu County. The lone goal was scored by Lieutenant Ansu Sheriff.

Lieutenant Blamo M. Brown and Warrant Officer Carrroll George served as Executive and Medical Officers in Charge for the operations, respectively. Sergeant Major Achie Wilson as the operation’s Sergeant Major. 

“OPERATION TRUE GUARDIAN” is a military patrol that will be conducted quarterly across the country for time indefinite. It aims to restore public trust, bolster national security and ensure the safety and stability of the country’s borders and coastal areas.

The operation also aims to project the AFL’s preparedness to deter transnational organized and maritime crimes and maintain internal security, while fostering cooperation with local communities and law enforcement agencies.
