The Executive Director of the Crusader for Peace, Juli Endee, Cum Commissioner General of the Osaka, Japan trade fare, said the country stands to benefit from this year’s trade fare scheduled in Osaka, Japan.
Madam Endee made this disclosure on Monday, May 26, at the Crusader for Peace headquarters on the Capital Bye-pass when she returned from Japan.
She said the Expo 2025 will offer the country opportunity to showcase the great potential of the country’s tourism sector, and the endowment of the natural resources, which covers the mining, forestry, agriculture and the fishery sectors.
She said the event will also highlight trade and commerce coupled with a attention on improved infrastructure as investment incentives for foreign direct investment in the economy.
According to her, the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Liberia Chamber of Commerce, will lead the Small Medium Enterprises (SME) engagement, including sector representation and capacity building session.
She said, it will be aligned with President Joseph Boakai’s ARREST Agenda that takes into consideration agriculture, roads connectivity, rule of law, education, sanitation and tourism. Accordingly, the forum will highlight the country’s commitment to good governance, improved infrastructure and a private run growth.
More cardinally, she said, it will showcase investors’ friendly policies and enhance transparency with a transformed business climate, which would obviously demonstrate that the country is prepared for national and foreign investments in energy, digital technology, mining and manufacturing sectors.
Madam Endee said other forums will be held, but key among them, will be the business forum, which will pave the way for the country’s SMES serving as backbone of the economy.
Deputy Information Minister, Daniel Sando, encouraged Liberian businesspeople to take advantage of the Japan Expo 2025 to display their products in Osaka, Japan.
The Expo2025 is expected to kick-off on August 24, in Osaka, Japan.
