At NIBMO’s Gathering:

Boakai Cautions Citizens

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has rallied citizens to place patriotism above party loyalty.

Boakai: “Doing so will help the government achieve its national development goals.”

He spoke during the launch of a political movement under the banner: “National Independent Movement for Boakai (NIMBO), on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Monrovia.

Pres. Boakai told citizens that it is difficult for any government to succeed in a divided state.

NIMBO is a newly established pro-regime group, which House Deputy Speaker, Thomas Fallah, founded to support the political agenda of Pres. Boakai as he seeks his second term bid.

Pres. Boakai said, his government has made significant strides in many sectors, including education, infrastructure, electricity, health, water and sewer, but observed that citizens participation remains key in determining government’s success stories.

He specifically pointed to road connectivity, construction of modern school facilities, expansion of electricity and pipe- borne water supply, as some progress under his leadership that Liberians should collectively embrace.

He said, division over political and tribal differences has not helped in the nation-building.

Boakai meanwhile, admonished citizens to disregard their differences to move the country forward.

He described the launch of NIMBO as a “clear demonstration of citizens resolved to support my administration ARREST Agenda.”

The agenda primarily focuses on agriculture, road, rule of law, education, sanitation and tourism.

“I am saying to all of you, it is not so much about the next election, but the next generation.

What you do today, is what builds this country.

I do not think it could have been more important to attend another occasion than here today, when Liberians decide to come together in the interest of their country, to put their country first.

I think that is why all of you have done, and we are going to work with it.

We want to make a show that Liberians will respect one another.

When you talk bad about your country, of course, you have made things difficult for yourselves.

We promise you as a government that whatever we do, will not be for two or three days, to make Liberian lives better.

That is why we are making sure we pave roads and supply clean water among other things.

It is not something to beg for, it is your right, that is why you elected us.”

Meanwhile, Pres Boakai assured that his administration will address pressing challenges.

He said, the government is working to increase job opportunities.

“By doing so, we will empower citizens and give them better living conditions.”

NIMBO founder and chief executive officer, Thomas Fallah, said, the launch of the movement is not intended to seek favor from the President, but a way to support Boakai’s visions for rebuilding the country for all.

Fallah, once an opposition figure, said his decision to establish NIMBO, was driven by major progress made under the leadership of Boakai in less than three years of his term.

NIMBO consists of politicians and non-politicians from diverse backgrounds, who are resolved to support and propagate the development initiatives of the Unity Party government.

“Mr. President, I stand here today not only me, but my colleagues. We are clear, Mr. President, we do not need any favor, we have come here with conviction; we believe that our country is on the right path with you as the administrator.

We believe in your leadership, within three years, you have done extremely well. We do not need to be told; we are the direct representation of the 5.6 million people of this country. NIBMO was established with the core mission of lending you our support.”

To reflect: Fallah was expelled from the opposition CDC in 2024, for breaching the party’s constitution.

His expulsion was tied to reports that he joined ranks with a bloc in the House, during a heated leadership dispute that resulted in the removal of Representative J. Fonati Koffa, a CDC Executive, from the House speakership position.

Fallah has since declared support for Pres. Boakai, and the ruling Unity Party.
