Having violently killed his friend, the Third Judicial Circuit Court in Sinoe County, has sentenced to life Armah Dassay.

Meanwhile, authorities at the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), through the Office of the County Attorney for Sinoe County, has officially welcomed the judgment, and subsequent life imprisonment sentence handed down by the Third Judicial Circuit Court.

The Court’s decision was against Armah Dassay, who murdered one Isaac Kpakgpor.

Prior to his death, Kpakgpor was tied to a palm wine tree where he remained until his corpse decomposed with the eyes, testicles, and anus being extracted.

The final ruling, delivered by Assigned Circuit Judge Wesseh Alphonsus Wesseh, marks the conclusion of a rigorous and transparent judicial process in the county.

The court found Dassay guilty of the brutal 2023 killing; a case that has deeply affected the peace and security of the Butaw Community and the county at-large.

The prosecution team led by Mmonbeydo Nadine Joah, successfully presented 11 witnesses; five direct and six rebuttal witnesses, and a robust chain of circumstantial evidence that left no room for reasonable doubt.

The Ministry views the verdict as a “clear signal that the life of every Liberian is sacred, and that those who commit acts of violence will be held accountable under the full weight of the law.”
