ARCAL To Conduct Nationwide Census For ‘Retired Population’

The All Retired Citizens Association (ARCAL), has disclosed plans to conduct a nationwide census for the 192, 000 “retired population.”

ARCAL is a local based non-governmental organization.

ARCAL national chairman Reverend Kafa Teah, told reporters on Tuesday, March 17, that the planned nationwide census establishes a more collaborative and inclusive approach that will involve “all retired citizens in the decision-making process.”

He said doing so will help the ARCAL leadership to actively engaged with all retired citizens build trust, strengthen relationships, and ensure that all programs earmark is implemented culturally sensitive and relevant.

The surveys will widely be used and effective method for

gathering data from a large number of individuals within  the retired community.

Rev. Teah noted that, the surveys will provide a structured approach to collect information, and also be used to administer in various formats, including paper-based questionnaires, online surveys, or through mobile applications.

He meanwhile, appealed to officials and members of ARCAL Board of Trustee, including Bishop Nimely Donyen, Counselors Philomela T. Williams, Tiawan Saye Gongloe, Madam Lema Gbowee, Archbishop John Milton, and Isaac Flowers for financial support.

 In the planning, ARCAL Department of Human Resource and Statistics will conduct the nationwide census workshop from May 18-30, 2026, with coordinators and field supervisors at the 73 electoral districts.

Rev. Teah said, they have also appealed to goodwill Liberians as well as political leaders to kindly give their financial attention.

“This, we believe, will truly serve the purpose for which ARCAL was established for the people, by the people, and of the people.”

He then called on all retired citizens to kindly join them in supporting the May 18-30, 2026, nationwide planned census.
