The President of the Association of Judiciary Reporters of the Republic of Liberia (AJURL) has admonished vocational school graduates to put into practice skills they have acquired to improve themselves and their families. Miss Yassah J. Wright serving as keynote speaker at the fourth graduation exercise of the Marion’s Culinary School of Technical Vocational Education encouraged graduates to develop an extremely strong mindset and vision that will help them succeed in the larger society. Madam Wright told the graduates mostly made up of women that they can only fully achieve their goals when they seriously utilize the skills acquired during the course of the training. She said the skills they have acquired are not just useful to their families but can greatly transform the nation; maintaining that Liberia needs a lot of skilled people. Madam Wright reminded the graduates that for them to achieve greatness they must make all of the sacrifices themselves because if they can’t be brave enough to step up nobody will be willing to assist them. Madam Wright who recently graduated from the African Methodist Episcopal University told graduates to imagine themselves achieving greatness with their skills including owning renowned bakeries, restaurants, telling them that while their starting will be small, they should ensure their ending is big. She also told the graduates not to allow themselves get distracted by anything to leave their goals. The media practitioner lauded the efforts of the graduates for the step taken but again called on them not to allow themselves do business like ordinary caterers who did not go through the training they have gone acquired. She admonished women graduates to serve as examples for other women to follow to acquire skills that will help make them useful citizens. Over the weekend, the 4th circle of the Marion’s Culinary School graduated several students in technical vocational education skills. Those graduated benefited from skills such as, pastry, interior design, cake making and design, cosmetology, construction, computer science, among others. Madam Wright appreciated the men who have come to acquire skills. “As a man if you don’t make yourself relevant in your home, it will be very difficult for your wife to respect you,” she noted. “I know some of you don’t want to hear this but it’s the reality of life. You need to make yourself someone your wife and children can rely on both in terms of care and ideas,” Madam Wright pointed out.
