The African Democratic Alliance for Freedom and Progress (ADAFP), has strongly condemned the recent surge in anti-immigration protests, and violent attacks targeting African nationals in South Africa.

ADAFP described the situation as “alarming and unacceptable.”

The continental body has meanwhile, called for an immediate end to the attacks.

It urges authorities to act swiftly to restore calm and protect vulnerable communities.

In a statement issued over the weekend, ADAFP expressed “profound disappointment” over the intensifying hostility toward foreign African nationals.

It also warns that such actions undermine the spirit of unity and cooperation across the continent.

ADAFP said, the act threatens developments broader integration agenda and shared aspirations.

The group noted that its founding principles individual liberty, social justice, and Pan-Africanism stand in direct opposition to “xenophobic violence.”

According to ADAFP, the attacks represent a betrayal of the long-standing African value of Ubuntu, which promotes mutual respect, solidarity and collective humanity among all Africans.

ADAFP called for renewed commitment to continental integration through initiatives such as the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and the African Continental Free Trade Area.
