“A Mistake I Won’t Repeat”

. . . Gatie Turns Against Rep. Kolleh

A political tremor has hit Bong County District #2 as influential citizen Jutomue Gatie, has issued a stinging rebuke of incumbent Representative James M. Kolleh.

Gatie firmly declared that he will not support nor tolerate the continued failure in the district’s leadership.

Gatie, once a strong supporter of Rep. Kolleh, has now publicly announced that backing Kolleh in past elections was “a mistake I will not repeat.”

He made the statement recently during formality that marked the opposition Coalition For Democratic (CDC) honoring ceremony for Margibi County Senator Nathaniel F. McGill.

The event was hosted in Gbarnga, Bong County.

Mr. Gatie took a bold and uncompromising stance, asserting that the people of District #2 have suffered under “ineffective leadership, and deserve far better representation than what they are currently receiving.”

His remark, sharp and unapologetic, have immediately shifted the political atmosphere in the district.

Gatie said, Rep. Kolleh has failed to deliver on key expectations, leaving the district stagnant at a time when other regions are pushing aggressively with development programs.

He accused Kolleh of lacking a clear vision for District #2, failing to champion pressing issues at the national level, and remaining disconnected from the day-to-day struggles of the people he represents.

Gatie noted with regret that his earlier support for Kolleh was based on hope and trust, trust that he says was never honored.

“I supported him because I believed he would stand for the people. But after years of watching, nothing meaningful happen. I can confidently say, I made a mistake. And it is a mistake I will not repeat.”

Gatie believes the district cannot continue under a representation style that, in his assessment, lacks energy, direction, and measurable results.

Residents who monitored the remarks, were left buzzing with discussions, with some praising Gatie’s courage to speak bluntly, while others called for caution as political season gradually approaches.
