45 KM Road Construction Launched In Grand Bassa By: Fiona Benson Kollie

As the issue of roads being one of the key factors to a developed nation, on Friday February 21, 2025 , Grand 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 #2 Representative, 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬, broke grounds for a 45 kilometer road construction worth over forty-two Thousand United States Dollars to link various towns and villages including 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 t𝐨 𝐙𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 in the district and beyond. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Rep. Banks said the construction of the road is one of the significant steps toward improving the infrastructure development of the people of Grand Bassa District #2, especially residents of Coco Farm Community and Zorgar Town. He added that road project also marks the beginning of upcoming development initiatives to take place across the district as it will aim at enhancing transportation and boosting local economic activities for the people in that part of the country. Representative Banks also highlighted the importance of having accessible roads for community growth in the area, stating that the project is not just about paving roads but also connecting the people, improving trade, and creating opportunities for the citizens, among others. According to him, the road project is expected to ease travel between various communities along that path to improve access to essential services, and further promote local business by making it easier for farmers and traders to transport their goods to market. “If I have been Representative for the past eighteen years, Grand Bassa County District 2 could have been on path with other counties in terms of developments’ Representative Banks noted.  He further maintained that roads’ connection is very essential to the development of the area as it seeks to link both district #2 to district 4 and enhance productivity in the area. In another development, Rep. Banks also revealed plans to make available eight (8) boats for a river that is connecting district #2 to electoral district #4, to provide easy access for residents of the both districts. Rep. Banks who has earned recognition as a leading developmental figure in Grand Bassa, emphasizing his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents through practical solutions and infrastructural developments, among others. The project which marks a major milestone in Representative Banks’ commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges in District #2 has commenced immediately with local contractors and workers involved in the initiative to promote job creation within the district. It brought together residents of Grand Bassa County District #2 .

The residents in a joyous mood expressed optimism about the development initiatives with many praising Representative Banks for prioritizing infrastructure such as roads, emphasizing that improving road conditions will enhance access to healthcare, education, and most of all provide access to various markets in the area.
