20 Bags of Cement For School In Nimba

The Nimba County Police Commander, Mendin Larmie, has made a generous donation of 20 bags of cement to the Peter Z. Saye Memorial Academy.

Officer Larmie made the donation during the official launching ceremony of the school.

The ceremony was held on June 26, 2025, in Sanniquellie, the county’s political capital.

“This act of generosity not only supports the school’s ongoing construction, but also reflects on Larmie’s deep commitment to promoting education and community development initiatives,” residents recalled at the ceremony.

Officer Larmie, known for his level-headed style of leadership in the police force, underscored the importance of education in building a safe and prosperous society void of crimes. “Education is the key to shaping a better future for our children, and our communities. As a leader in the county police force, I believe that supporting education will go a long way in addressing social issues, such as crimes and its related vices,” Larmie told the audience to a round of applause.

The 20 bags of cement are not just a material contribution, but a reflection of Mr. Larmie’s unwavering dedication to the development of the county.

The cement will be used to help complete the construction of classrooms and other essential facilities, ensuring that the school is ready to open this year.

Edmond Z. Saye, the CEO of the Peter Z. Saye Memorial Academy, expressed gratitude for the “timely and much-needed donation.”

He described officer Larmie’s support as a testament to his commitment to see crime-free communities occupied with educated minds.

“We are grateful for Officer Larmie’s donation. It will go a long way in ensuring that our facilities are ready for the next academic year,” Mr. Saye remarked.

The Peter Z. Saye Memorial Academy is a new institution, established in memory of the late Peter Z. Saye, a Nimbian, who served his community with ‘dedication and distinction.’

The school is owned and operated by Edmond Z. Saye, the son of the late Peter Z. Saye. It will serve as an enduring tribute to his father’s legacy. Located in the heart of Sanniquellie, the school is ready to begin its first academic session this year, offering educational opportunities to children in nearby communities and beyond.

Several high-profiled individuals, including dignitaries, community leaders, parents and expected students graced the official launching with their presence.

The event was characterized by speeches, mainly from local leaders.
