Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, has called on the youth, especially those in his home county Nimba, to maintain unity and refrain from violence as the county approaches the Tuesday, Aprilla 22, crucial senatorial by-election.

At a community engagement tour on Tuesday, April 15, VP Koung cautioned young people against allowing political rivalries to turn into personal attacks or conflicts.

“As politicians, we often collaborate in Monrovia, and I cannot allow you, as young individuals to jeopardize your future by engaging in conflict or attacking one another’s families and leaders in the name of defending a candidate. Remember, politics is transient,” Koung said to a mammoth’s crowd at a campaign rally.

He launched his community engagement tour aimed at inspecting development projects he initiated during his tenure as Senator. The tour also focused on mobilizing grassroots support ahead of the by-election scheduled for April 22, 2025.

As part of the visit, Koung broke ground for a new bridge project in Nimba District #8, and donated several bags of cement to support community initiatives in districts #1, #2 and #8.

He pledged to initiate additional countywide development projects beginning 2026.

Communities visited included Duo, Kpein, Bunadin, Gbei Sealah, Garr Busie, Garr Dangamon and Neegbin.

VP Koung’s tour reflects a blend of political engagement and ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure and social cohesion in the vote-rich Nimba County. By: Ableejay Staff
