𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐢 𝐕𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲

 President Joseph N. Boakai has vowed to end impunity in the country as he encouraged the Minister of Justice to be more robust in the execution of his duties. “We will end impunity, we will make sure this country is respected and strengthen the integrity of Liberia, to the Minister of Justice, don’t be afraid but do the right thing,” President Boakai emphasized. Speaking on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the 5th Cabinet Meeting held at the Executive Mansion in Monrovia, President Boakai said there is an urgent need to pay attention to the security forces of the state while underscoring the need for the country’s resources to be used properly. President Boakai further rained praises on the country’s security sector with reference to the works of the Liberia National Police (LNP), adding, “The Police are doing well.” The Liberia leader used the occasion to reemphasize that the Minister of Health, Dr. Louise Mapleh Kpoto should ensure that the health sector is vibrant, noting, “I want you to ensure that the hospitals and clinics are well cleaned at all times, make sure that you check on these facilities.” Speaking further, President Boakai said in reference to authorities of the Ministry of Commerce, “I don’t want to hear that everything is okay when our people out there are suffering, commodities including rice price going up every day, I hope you will listen to the  people that you serve and do your market survey to ensure that the price of rice and other commodities are reduced on the Liberian market.” The Chief Executive warned his ministers that his government will not run on social media, reminding them that it is the duty of the Ministry of Information to channel government’s information to the public. According to him, his administration is going to do follow-ups on the performances of ministers as well as County Superintendents. “If you cannot perform to expectation, we will remove you and you will not come back,” he warned. He further encouraged the Ministers of Youth and Sports, Agriculture, Lands, Mines, and Internal Affairs to focus on their duties and deliver better services to the people of Liberia. Also, he urged authorities of the Ministry of Education to be proactive because there is a need for the children to learn in a very good environment and get the best of education, noting that the ministry should ensure that the youth of the country are kept busy through educational activities. He stressed that Ministers of government should do the work of the Liberian people and take responsibility of their various Ministries and Agencies. “If you come to this job with hidden agenda and we get to know, we will dismiss you and you won’t come back no matter who recommended you,” President Boakai Warned.
